@SimonCalder Hi, Simon. Wonder whether you can throw any light on the chaos of the Cross Country service from Birmingham to Penzance? Invariably overcrowded, limited luggage space and double booked seats. Shortage of coaches a Network Rail or operator responsibility?
@CrossCountryUK Another poor experience. 12.12 from New Street today to Penzance ridiculously busy! Why no extra coaches? Seat reservations double booked too.
@AvantiWestCoast Really awful service this morning. 8.59 service from Lancaster to London over 35 minutes late. Then journey via Birmingham cancelled when approaching Crewe - no help from staff in identifying alternative connections.
Rachel Reeves could easily fill her '£50 billion black hole' by abolishing spending on Ukraine, foreign aid, migrant hotels, benefits for foreigners & net zero subsidies.
Instead she is going to tax whatever is left into oblivion
(The real black hole is £2,900 billion)

FIFTEEN HOURS since the Huntingdon train attack.
Nothing from the Prime Minister, Justice Secretary or Home Secretary other than the usual platitudes.
No information about whether we’ve just been subjected to another terror attack.
But a lecture not to speculate.
This is sick
I’ve spent over 21 years training landlords and agents on the importance of compliance with housing law. For the Chancellor of the Exchequer to rent out her own property without the legally required selective licence is simply unacceptable.
This isn’t a minor oversight — it’s a clear breach of the law designed to protect tenants and uphold standards. Every professional landlord knows that ignorance is no defence. Someone in her position should absolutely know better.
If this were any ordinary landlord, they’d face a hefty fine and possible prosecution. The same rules must apply to everyone — no exceptions for those in high office.
Rachel Reeves should face the full penalty under housing law and she should resign. Ministers cannot demand integrity from others while breaking the very laws they expect the rest of us to follow.

These boat arrivals are not 'asylum seekers'. Don't use that term. It legitimises their presence. They are illegal migrants. Criminals. And should be treated as such.
They have broken into our country, our home, violating our borders.
Criminals. All of them.
Detain. Deport.
Every 12 DAYS, China's carbon emissions exceed Australia's total annual emissions.
Consequently, Australia's efforts to achieve net zero emissions would be offset by China's emissions in just two weeks.
Net Zero is a scam of massive proportions!
@BBCNWT Good to see the programme tonight covering the building of the mosque in Dalton in Furness. Why not dedicate a longer programme to exploring why opinion is so divided? A chance to inform and to educate.
🚨Britain must cut spending on welfare benefits or face a miserable cycle of repeated tax rises every year, the world’s largest bank has warned.
"The inability to tackle welfare spending pressures is why investors charge more to lend to the UK than rival nations."
My 13 year old Daughter died from #BrainCancer 4,679 days ago. 💔
I would LOVE to see my Ashley’s name 4,679 times in comments for all the days she’s been missing.
When you lose a Child, the most beautiful word you can hear is their name. ❤️
A Repost & Follow would mean the world to us to keep our Ashley’s story alive.

Ed Miliband’s bullshit promises of lower energy bills have been completely debunked. The UK has the highest electricity prices in the world - and continue to rise because of his net zero madness.
