@JosephT35574113@Noahpinion the original complaint was that grocery prices should be lower. if a grocer makes 2% net margin, they can cut prices 2% before their profits are gone. that’s the point. if grocers cut their prices 1% (and thus halved their profit) would politicians stop complaining? obviously not
@ExRP2022@tomcolicchio no, it doesn’t mean that. it means that any method of trying to count exactly how many people are employed in a country of 370 million+ people is flawed
please refer to the recent estimates of 2025 decisions. was Trump lying on those?
@Deadwood1888@Geiger_Capital sir please use your finger to point out 2017 and 2021 on the graph and tell me if the line goes up or down between those points
@RealEJAntoni man you were breathlessly tweeting about the GDPNow numbers a couple weeks ago. I must’ve missed your tweet about today’s update. what happened? :)
@tomvictor420@RepThomasMassie because he’s the ONLY republican who actually reads this shit and votes based on whether he thinks it’s good policy, rather than just doing whatever Trump or party leadership says
which is, ya know, how Congress is supposed to work
@waynenj7@RealEJAntoni what doomsday glasses? real economic growth is like 2.5%. I just said it’s not the greatest economy ever. there’s a lot of space between that and doomsday
@profstonge 3% of that growth is from a surge in gold exports and restocking inventories. those things are not repeatable growth drivers. actual economic growth is like 2.5%
whatever poverty institution awarded you a PhD should revoke it immediately
@BlueStateBlues3@RealEJAntoni they’re two different surveys and often give very different results. the household survey in particular is super volatile since they survey a few thousand people and have to extrapolate to hundreds of millions
establishment is likely closer to reality from month to month
@wesbury@Frenesi625373 good lord, they didn’t take it away, they just didn’t include the same exception for state taxes. you still get the fed exception. states can’t just nullify fed tax policy
someone with $25k wages + $25k tip income pays taxes on $25k at the fed level, $50k at the state level

@wesbury you’re mad at them for not aligning their tax policy with federal policy, which they are under no obligation to do
I would argue that random tax goodies for random groups of people is dumb tax policy. why is tip income so special to not be taxed?
@wesbury so you agree with me that correlation does not imply causation
yet your original tweet equates correlation to causation
you should probably just delete it to be honest
