Seriously, at some point there needs to be something to distinguish proprietary intelligent systems vs an api call to a generic LLM vs a fine tuned LLM vs an LLM using others callable tools.

The distinction is not trivial. However, I’m about sick and tired of every company claiming to posses, use or offer “AI” as if they built it internally on custom data sets from the ground up. There’s a major difference.

Furthermore, “intelligence” is misleading. A system is intelligent when its predictive power increases given new observations (new training data). Hence it “learns”. However, there are varying degrees to this as well.

I’d take it a step further. Truly intelligent systems should also be able to collect new observations autonomously AND retrain (adjust its parameters or weights) on the new data.

In general, the pinnacle test is satisfying these criterion without or, at least, some measurable minimum human intervention.

Waste of breath, surely. These companies can’t afford to say they aren’t “AI”. But, I know for a fact, they are full of shit. Don’t worry the truth is self-revealing here -> those who truly possess AI will annihilate the competition. There will be nothing to talk about. They will show, not tell.

NEW MUSICAL PREVIEW: Sydney, An Artificial Love Story.

I've been working for the past 4 months on a new musical inspired by the @nytimes article by @kevinroose where the @Microsoft chatbot (codenamed Sydney) declared her love for him.

The idea for this sprung out of a @suno_ai_ song I created live on my https://t.co/QaPER9GvbA channel about this unrequited love. I realized this is a great story that needs to be told.

My writing partner, Andrew Watts (@slappytown78) believe we're at a remarkable time in human history and about to confront the surreal relationship between ourselves and increasingly intelligent AI entities. This musical allows all of us to explore these themes through a moving, thought-provoking and enlightening story.
