@ElyMuseum @ElyIslandPie @HeritageFundUK@JFSSchool It will be Mrs Hinton Knowles, the wife of the vicar of St Mary's Church in the middle, who was like a mother to the boys in the JFS Hostel. Dr Bernstein, Headteacher, is on her right and Mr Joseph next to him, on her left is possibly Mr Bourn and next to him Rabbi Kon.
Thank you Ely College for inviting me to congratulate your students on receiving their certificates and talk to them this evening. They are a credit to themselves, their parents, carers and the College and all its staff. We are all supporting our College and its continued success
Delighted to welcome a party of history students and their staff from the Jews Free School to meet pupils from Isleham School and talk about evacuation with the Ely Museum team. A lovely occasion recalling this areas role in taking evacuees from London's East End 80 years ago.
Fascinated by this new book on 'The Misericords and Choir-stalls of Ely Cathedral'. It will open your eyes to new wonders in our beautiful cathedral. (there are two versions, one at £5.00 and a more detailed one at £10.)
Wonderful Viva Awards evening today. Well done, Dan Schumann and everyone connected with this great organisation that gives so many opportunities in the arts to so many young people. Love Viva - love life!
Great evening at the WWT Welney watching Tony Winchester feeding the swans, before we were fed (not in the same way, but superbly) What a marvellous place, Lauren and I highly recommend it for a visit and dine there if you can. https://t.co/aSZ45miH0S
Congratulations to Ely College for an immaculately observed two minutes silence in a short service of remembrance today despite the cold and wet. Thank you Mark Cooney of Spotted in Ely for this photograph
Thank you to the RBL, the Revd Chris Hill, all helpers and supporters who joined us today at the Ely war memorial at 11 to pay our respects. We will remember them. Thank you Lauren Rouse for the photos.
Well done to the organisers and all those manning stalls, the Careers Event in the cathedral today was packed when I was there. For some youngsters, this could be the day that fires their imagination about all the possibilities for them
Well done Hannah McCreadie and team for An Evening with Alfie McCreadie raising money for Jay's Journey and Santa's Little Helpers. Congratulations to Alfie, Ely Hero joint Child of Achievement winner with Jay, and best wishes to Jay and his Team who were special guests.
