A gang of approximately ten teenagers, aged around fifteen years old, are allegedly committing violent crimes, including stabbings and robberies in the Palmview area of KwaZulu Natal.
This information was provided to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) while Officers were attending to a stabbing incident at the corner of Wander Park Place & Trenance Park Drive at 18:30 on Wednesday.
A 29-year-old male was found bleeding profusely from stab wounds. He informed Reaction Officers that a gang of children had attacked, stabbed, and robbed him.
Reaction officers learned that the gang had allegedly stabbed other victims in recent weeks during robberies.
The Border Management Authority (BMA) has intercepted what is likely the largest drug consignment in South African history, seizing methaqualone valued at nearly R1 billion at the Beitbridge border post. In an intelligence-driven operation coordinated through the National Targeting Centre, officials identified a truck travelling from Zimbabwe and were waiting when it arrived. Using the site’s truck scanner, they discovered a hidden compartment and spent over eight hours dismantling the vehicle.
Inside, authorities found 713,000 grams of methaqualone, also known as ABBA and commonly used to manufacture mandrax. The substance was confirmed with assistance from the Hawks and K9 units. The haul has an estimated street value of R998.2 million.
Three Malawian suspects were arrested at the scene and taken to Musina Police Station, where the Hawks will continue investigations. The BMA said the operation demonstrates how intelligence-led investigations, digital scanning technology, and inter-agency coordination are rebuilding the rule of law at South Africa’s borders.
The Hawks Tactical Operations Management Team foiled a hijacking/kidnapping attempt in Crystal Park around 20:30 last night. Responding to information about suspects committing crimes on Elm Road, they spotted a silver-grey Opel Astra pulling a female victim out of her Fiat and bundling her into their getaway vehicle. A high-speed chase ensued, during which the suspects opened fire on police. The suspects' vehicle crashed into an embankment, leaving three fatally wounded. The victim was rescued unharmed, and two firearms and some of her possessions were recovered from the scene.
Ten undocumented foreign nationals, including three truck drivers, were arrested in a multidisciplinary operation led by MEC Siboniso Duma in Mooi River Tollgate. The Road Traffic Inspectorate worked alongside the Home Affairs Immigration Unit to apprehend the suspects, part of an effort to "clean up our road networks". The operation coincides with the deployment of 177 newly recruited traffic officers targeting trucks and undocumented foreign nationals driving trucks.

MK Party Condemns ANC and DA's Tribalism Accusations, Calls for Unity
The MK party has strongly condemned the ANC and DA for labeling their electoral success in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) as "Zulu tribalism." The party argues that this narrative is intellectually lazy and threatens the building of a united, non-racial, non-sexist, and prosperous South Africa.
The MK party questions why the ANC's overwhelming support in KZN during Thabo Mbeki's presidency was not labeled as "Zulu tribalism" and why the DA's support for the apartheid-era National Party is not seen as "racial tribalism."
The party believes that the people of KZN are punishing the ANC for mismanaging the country, exacerbating unemployment, poverty, and loadshedding, and destroying state-owned enterprises. Similarly, the DA is being rejected for its apartheid reminiscence.
The MK party calls on all South Africans to reject these parties' attempts to regress to tribalism and racism and join them in calling for an end to this "embarrassing immaturity." Instead, they urge unity and a focus on building a prosperous South Africa where wealth is not concentrated in white hands, and blacks are not relegated to receiving crumbs in their own country.
