@linusgsebastian I've been working to teach kids tech for 5 years, the majority of "digital natives" are just well targeted by app designers and expressed to more cloud services. A majority can't use a usb unassisted. It's a problem.
I like that this happens every day at the same time as if thousands of parents got home and told their kids to go study, and those kids know #ChatGPT has their answers.
This is going to be a defining question of our time.
The first thing is going to be to start sharing resources better so that everyone isn't coming up with their solution independently. To many fall through the cracks because they couldn't.
Schools need to be different in the age of #AI. If “un-Google-able” questions was the challenge of assessment in the past, now it is anything an artificial intelligence engine can spit out. With the world at our fingertips, how can assessment and schools evolve? #edchat#TEACHers
@kareem_carr I'm curious what the ChatGPT contribution was that they felt the need to include it as an author?
It also raises ethical concerns that the tool being evaluated would be included as an author, what if it was a person.
Seems like a stunt to get some attention.

@makersmuse just posted a video on the PLA and plastic problem in #3DPrinting. Perhaps missed the biggest problem which is 3D printing in education where mountains of plastic waste are made for trinkets that are disposed of without thought. https://t.co/aPWgWLXcQ8
@makersmuse I did some more searching. There are some systems that use a syringe pump and solvent extruder with cellulose in acetone, or similar. That's the best you're going to do for an FDM printer.
Anything purer than that seems to be a bit of a dead-end for now in the consumer space.
@makersmuse You need a thermoplastic biopolymer, which isn't particularly common or to synthesise one for the specific application. The ones that I'm aware of can soften enough for vacuum forming but not extrusion.
It would be worth looking into any used for injection moulding.
@makersmuse Celulose based might be a bit tricky. As a component absolutely, but it alone can't really be used in FDM as it burns at the same temperatures it melts.
I don't know if it will be possible to make any real biodegradable FDM filaments in the near future.
