@bp_plc Such a pity that BP has also alienated thousands of previously loyal ex-employees, the BP Pensioners, by refusing the BP Pension Trustee Pension Increase Request Again!
That leaves the buying power of BP Pensions 11% below where they should be.
#bpPensions#beyondparsimony
@bppensioner All this led to the formation of the BP Pensioner Group, which includes many of the giants you refer to. Some are actively involved, others are quietly supporting & all of them want to see justice prevail!

@bppensioner@bp_plc@amcarmichaelMP What an achievement of his to secure and lead the MP’s debate in the House!
The BP pensioner Group will never forget his turn of phrase.
His mentions of "BP Dealing from the Bottom of the Deck" & "The Canary in the Coalmine" will enter Pensions folklore via Hansard, no less!
@bppensioner@bp_plc@amcarmichaelMP We have to thank MP Alistair Carmichael for fronting the ‘fight for fairness’ campaign on behalf of the BPPG in Westminster.
He once declared “BP are short-changing their own people”.
What an achievement of his to secure and lead the MP’s debate in the House of Commons !
@bppensioner Today didn't start well for BP, with the Financial Editor of the Times, explaining the reasons why the BP pensioners are so angry with the current BP Leadership Team for failing to honour the promises repeatedly made to them during their decades of BP employment.
@thomas_m_wilson Dear Tom, thanks for reporting that the BP Pensioners Group is doing it's utmost to highlight the 3 years of failure by BP to recognise high inflation - leaving us 11% poorer vs RPI. Best Wishes
@bppensioner BP refused the Trustees request for a discretionary cost of living Pension increase of 9% last year, below inflation of 13.4%.
Pensioners don’t understand why the Trustees only asked for 9% and remain stunned by the refusal of BP to approve a cost of living increase above 5%.
@bppensioner BPPG reports similar problems for US BP Pensioners!
This article contains so many statements that UK BP Pensioners can relate to. The disturbing fact is that it maps out the legal timeframe involved, which runs into many years, during which time many of the US Pensioners died.
@bppensioner Yes, just look at the date on this headline :-

BOOM - big Friday night news!! Members turn to the law for inflationary increases!! BP Pensioner Group has moved against the BP Pension Fund.

@bppensioner Thanks to everyone who helped yesterday with BPPG questions & also for their immediate reactions which gave a strong indication of added anger & determination.
In addition to the Statement there are lots of issues which require follow up & considered response.

@bppensioner@bp_plc@bp_UK Why does BP not recognise the BPPG ?
Once the BP Pensions GMP Consultation closed, no recognised communications channels to BP or BP Pensions exist for BPPG to use.
Will BP acknowledge the existence of the BPPG, now that Solicitors Letters have been delivered.
Will @bp_plc@bp_UK answer this question?
see https://t.co/VRjEWPzrGE for the full BP Pensioner Group rebuttal to @bp_plc justifications. Image includes a further challenge to BP's justifications.

What went wrong with BP Pensions?
BP refused the BP Pension Trustees request for a discretionary cost of living Pension increase of 9% last year, way below inflation of 13.4%. BP Pensioners do not understand why the Trustees only asked for 9% in the first place!
@bppensioner@bp_plc@bp_UK Press coverage :-
# Westminster MPs Criticise BP’s leadership for “dealing from the bottom of the deck” on UK pensions.
# Pensions Minister agrees to look into BP issue.
# “What happens to them can happen to others - government must now turn its close urgent attention”
@amcarmichaelMP Thank you to Alistair Carmichael.
Your use the Metaphor 'To deal from the Bottom of the Deck' says it all.
('To deal from the Bottom of the Deck' Metaphor dictionary definition = "To act in a duplicitous, deceitful manner in order to serve one's own interests; to cheat.)
@bppensioner@bp_plc Does BP stand for Be Proud any more?
Do BP believe that they can use words like struggling, suffering, hardest hit & hardship and expect anyone listening to feel pretty proud or feel good about that ?
The 'Emperor's New Clothes' is used when something is obviously wrong.
@bppensioner OUTRAGEOUS!
That's well over $1,000,000,000 per month of bp profit every month so far this year (yes, >$1Bn/month) and no mention whatsoever of the bp Pensioners dispute!
Why are bp Pensioners having to fight tooth and nail for fairness!
