For years I built in the background. Quietly. Heads down.
I'm done hiding.
I'm Mike, a serial entrepreneur from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Here's my story, and what I'm about to do live, in public 🧵
@Salimasbegum WiseTech ist Trade-Monopolist, 96% wiederkehrender Umsatz, steckt 33% in R&D.
Warum sollten die mit $IOTA arbeiten, statt es selbst zu bauen?
@ItakGol EU = No Innovation only Regulations .. you arent even allowed to contact a b2b contact without violating the UWG and GDPR rights. A living nighmare for real entrepreneurs
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned as a founder has only two letters:
NO
At first glance, no simply means: I consciously do not want this.
But over time, I noticed how much this small word can trigger.
Two examples:
THE LEVER
When you subscribe to a new tool and cancel it right away, you almost always get at least 30% off to stay. For a startup, this is not a detail. This is real liquidity.
THE CHARACTER TEST
When someone wants to sell you a service or a collaboration, everything usually looks great on paper. References, performance, nice decks. But only a no shows who is really behind it.
Over the years, I received countless requests like this for my companies, for example in lead acquisition. And once the first answer was no, things suddenly became honest. Some became rude or directly insulting. Others used almost desperate methods to convince me anyway, even though my no was sometimes only a test.
That showed me the most. Who handles pressure professionally, and who falls apart immediately.
You can almost always get a yes quickly. A no shows who you are really dealing with and who you want to deal with in the future.
Have you used this powerful word consciously as well? What were your experiences?

Quick intro for anyone new here.
I'm Mike, a serial entrepreneur from Switzerland. I built and exited Calenso, co-founded Calopad in health tech, and now I'm building AscendX Ventures.
At AscendX we buy companies, transform them with AI, and sell them. And we build new ventures from scratch, in public.
I want to connect with more
founders
builders
vibe coders
AI enthusiasts
UI designers
If you're someone building with AI right now, drop it in the comments and let's connect.
If any of this sounds useful, hit follow and come along.
So tell me: what are you building right now, and what is the one thing slowing you down?
Drop it below, I read every reply. Say hi 👋
