Mumbai has seen some violent incidents on its local trains in recent weeks. One man was murdered inside a moving train with a knife, while another passenger was attacked with a sickle after a seat dispute.

Now, a Lokmat Times sting has exposed a shocking security lapse in the Mumbai Metro. One might argue that such lapses are harder to prevent across Mumbai’s vast suburban rail network, but there is no excuse for them in the Metro. A reporter carried a knife through a security checkpoint to test the system, yet the weapon passed through both the metal detector and the baggage scanner without being flagged or questioned.

Despite recent attacks, even basic security checks appear to be missing. Millions depend on public transport every day, yet commuter safety continues to be treated as an afterthought.

Lucknow - In a shocking incident of child abuse inside a school, a 5-year-old nursery student was allegedly beaten continuously for 12 minutes by a class monitor at ALS Academy in Vrindavan Yojana, Lucknow. The entire episode was captured on CCTV cameras. A girl monitor of the class brutally assaulted the minor boy, repeatedly slapping and hitting him on the face and cheeks, causing visible injuries. The assault continued for nearly 12 minutes. When the child's condition worsened, he was rushed to the PGI Trauma Centre for medical treatment. The school administration has expelled the girl monitor following the incident. Police have registered a case based on the complaint filed by the victim's family, and further investigation is underway.

Appreciation post for LIC: Many years ago I had taken a policy per my CA’s advice. That policy matured in 2021. I had moved out of India. I had totally forgotten about the policy. They sent letters to former addresses. Upon not hearing back, they reached out to former colleagues and got hold of my number. I had lost the policy documents. The folks at LIC called multiple times and walked me through the process. Today that money was credited into my account. They could have easily closed the file. They were more keen about my money than myself. And they were persistent for years.

Its 1.45 am and i cant sleep bec of severe acidity. I have ulcers. And the last time my ulcers threatened to burst i had to be hospitalized & guess what @icicilombard refused to cover my hospitization cost - bec i hadnt declared my ulcers at the time of taking the policy. But i didnt have ulcers at the time of taking the policy and now they are asking for doctors certificates to confirm i didnt have ulcers at the time of taking the policy. Next they will insist on the car number that kills u in advance so ur family can make a claim. Shame on this @ICICILombard . Am so disgusted. I no longer care abt the refund - i will expose the fraud in their operations
