4/5: The Arsenal commissionaire took Cliff Jones to the exit doorway. After waiting there for a while, all of a sudden, Bill Nicholson came out into the reception, spotted Cliff and took him into the dressing room. Looking at his watch, Bill said, "You're late!"

2/4: Cliff Jones' recollection of that day is that he arrived on his own in the marble hall reception at Highbury stadium & confronted by the commisionaire."Hello" said Cliff, "I'm here to play for Spurs today."
"No you're not, I've heard that one before!" said the commisionaire,

We spent a nice afternoon with Spurs Legend Cliff Jones & his dear wife, Joan earlier this week. With this weekend's huge NLD versus Arsenal on Sunday, there is a story they told us. It is 68 years ago to the day, 22nd January, on Sunday that Cliff made his Spurs debut 1/4

I recall Gary Glitter had released an album and his agent arranged with me for him as a guest at that game. Before meeting Gazza he led the guests in the sponsors lounge in a chorus of one his songs, "Come on, come on, do you wanna be in my gang"
Little did we know at the time...

Bit of a weird article in the Tottenham v Derby programme dated 25 November 1989. ‘Gary Glitter met up with Paul in the Spurs dressing room before the game with Wimbledon and then joined in the pre-match warm-up!

Thanks for your interest. Yes, my book is 60% complete with the remainder in progress. My writing had been held up by ill health earlier on, but I am now fully into completing it, hopefully by the summer then subject to publisher confirmation, it will be launched later this year.
