A cynical person would believe that @walabor@WA_Police@MarkMcGowanMP is going to take until next year to add/change law to remove the capability of moving out ill & injured officers is to give the Force time to move as many officers out via Section 8 now https://t.co/cDMsvfPAWC
Over 100 former WA Police Officers, their families and supporters gathered in Perth yesterday to protest the atrocious treatment of medically retired officers and lack of workers' compensation for those injured on duty. (1)

Liberals apologise to medically-retired WA Police Officers
Medically-retired police have been given an apology by the West Australian opposition for failing to compensate officers who had been cast on the scrap heap after they could no longer work.

Ironic really.
The protest march is on Friday at 11am, starting from Parliament House, this article is released to probably stem criticism and deter people from attending. Nothing but empty promises. If you intended to go to the rally, go.
These changes have been announced over and over again for the past three decades. Nothing has changed, there's a tremendous amount of ill will in WA government towards police officers.
Shoulda Woulda Coulda... love the sense of urgency (not) and timing @MarkMcGowanMP@walabor We have heard it all before and will go in on Friday with the same passion that we had before this article and will ramp up. https://t.co/YRsXZy8xPI

Time to act as the shocking treatment of medically retired WA Police Officers is coming to a head
Police in Western Australia have never had Workers Compensation. As soon as we become badly injured in the line of duty we are discarded like garbage.

SUPPORT YOUR POLICE!
STILL NO WORKERS' COMPENSATION OR REDRESS.
HOW LONG MUST WE WAIT? IT'S BEEN 35 YEARS.

@TrueBlueLine @broad_robyn @WAtoday Pretty sure she was telling the Premier to man up, to take responsibility and stop blaming the other political parties.
Truth is both major party’s have known about this problem for 35 years, both major parties have been in power during that time, and both parties did nothing.
