@scotrail how if I make separate bookings using Scotrail and LNER return Linlithgow to Edinburgh is £6.90 with my veterans card and Edi to Newcastle is £12.30 (total £19.20) but try and book the whole RTN journey on Scotrail using same times and same journey is £38.70?

@ScotRail It doesn’t depend on time and ticket type. You don’t seem to have understood my question - I’ll try and find someone who can explain how splitting the journey into two bookings (even on the scotrail site) can half the fare consistently - I wish you’d just said you didn’t know.

@ScotRail It’s not one specific date/ time - it’s the trend I was questioning. How come starting the journey in Linlithgow frequently doubles the price of a journey to Newcastle compared to booking the journey as 2 trips; Linlithgow to EDI and then EDI to Ncl. If you don’t know just say

It is possible to book on your website. It’s just twice as expensive as making individual bookings - Linlithgow to Ed and then Ed to Newcastle.

@ScotRail No screen shots of this search. It’s common - try a couple of searches and you’ll see. Even using the ‘ticket split option’ - a journey starting in Linlithgow rather than Edinburgh can double the cost of making separate bookings to Newcastle 🤷‍♂️

@ScotRail been waiting since 25/11 for refund as couldn’t get on any of the packed trains at Linlithgow the day of Scot v Aus rugby. All information emailed and image of tickets - acknowledged but no refund. Lumo did a delay repay in less than 24hrs. Is scotrail this bad?

@British_Airways I got an email asking me to call you about a booking I have recently made, for a trip on 2 weeks time. I have spent over 3 hours on hold on calls I made Sunday, Monday and today - still haven’t got through to anyone on Silver club - customer service?
