New article in @European_Sec co-authored with my brilliant colleague Petr Kratochvíl at @IIR_Prague. We argue that Russian war against 🇺🇦is a new type of war, one not only implicitly gendered but also explicitly fought for traditional values & against gender/sexual equalities. 👇
Trump's foreign aid freeze is causing great concern for Ukrainian organisations across sectors, from veteran support, to local media & humanitarian aid. Unclear how things will develop.
Ukrainian civil society is a vital part of the country's resistance.

UN human rights chief Volker Turk has condemned Israel’s “apparent indifference” to the killing of civilians in Gaza, after a new report from his agency showed that nearly 70% of verified deaths from Israel's war were women and children https://t.co/EBCN3e0pqu
Thanks to @E_IR (and special thanks to @SimonHilditch) for inviting me to write this overview of ongoing debates on Russia as a colonial power.
In writing it, I've been inspired by the scholarship of many excellent colleagues - check out their work!
“Empathy is the glue that makes us stand united in humanity. If you don’t act for the Palestinians you will become irrelevant to the world. The only way to comply with international law is imposing sanctions against Israel. May this be the last genocide in human history.”
Powerful words from @FranceskAlbs after presenting her latest report on Israel’s genocide at the UN

"Not always what we dream of turns out to be as perfect as we've imagined it. Often, while wandering in our fantasies, obsessed only with our dreams, we fail to notice that our life is already turning out better than we could imagine," wrote Daria Bazylevych in her university essay in May, four months before russia stole her life she loved so much. We owe justice to their family, their dad, who survived, and every single victim of this genocidal war. This is heartbreaking.
