I have never received a noise complaint. It has nothing to do with what color I am. It’s the family I was raised in, the culture I grew up in, and Christianity that shaped who I am, how I act and what I believe.

I can recognize that others have lived a very different life and offer grace and constructive criticism to those that are new to the culture they just landed in.

I’m sorry your neighbor is a jerk. But that has nothing to do with his color or yours, and certainly not mine.

I’m with the OP: You don’t have to like the rules. You don’t have to understand the rules. But you MUST follow them.

You are guests. In most Western cultures, that means you act respectfully, humbly. You do not take advantage of, nor disrespect your hosts.

It’s a new culture to you so you aren’t sure how to act? Ask questions. Westerners, Christians, and especially Canadians are kind and will happily help you. When you were asked the night before to quiet down because it was late, that was a hint.

I know they’ll never see this and many might mock me for my naivety, but perhaps someone else, somewhere will see it and take it to heart and act better.

That’s what happened in Arizona. Then SoS Hobbs (now gov), “rewrote” the users manual. Suddenly, no more counting at precincts. Everything gets sent back to the central cheating… I mean, central counting location.

We have other cheats happening, but this made a big difference in how long it takes to count.
