To write is to try and make sense of the chaotic nature of humans. writer, student, mother, wife, tree hugging hot mess. Currently seeking new representation
@MireMarke Been there… done that… the query trenches are even more depressing once you’ve been signed and seen a glimmer on the other side, sorry you’re going through it. My inbox is open if you want to swap stories and vent!
2 years ago this week I signed with my agent. Never dreaming that only 2 years later I’d literally be crying myself to sleep over query rejections. The trenches are rough and rejections shouldn’t arrive during a PMS episode.
@frank_glazewski@EdKrassen My husband is a 100% disabled vet… so according to you he isn’t fit to work? Or do you “support the troops?” Because you can’t actually support the troops with this kind of attitude.
There was a thread calling people to read more nonfiction written by women. I’m looking into a book about the French Revolution. Does anyone have any recommendations? Bonus points if written by a woman or LGBTQ.
it's been 6 months since my agent unexpectedly closed up shop and left my MS without a home. The last 6 months have been filled with me trying to keep my family safe, alive and moving 1000 miles away. I've had three fulls and just got the 3rd rejection.
After a grieving period of a couple months from the breakup with my agent, I decided to throw my hat into a pitch event. I spent the morning reading the other submissions and feeling like I'm in great company.
@Theologicalish1 I live in Utah. He’s very open about being Mormon, however I know that many people less familiar with the religion might not equate Mormonism with Christianity. I suppose I used both to keep the connection. He’s an awful man that uses every chance to remind me he’s a man of faith
Landlord vent: a thread.
We moved into our house in Feb 2019. The landlord explained they would be leaving the state to serve a Christian (Mormon) mission. He made a few comments about us being exmormon and hoped our Morals wouldn’t cause us to be 1/
I've spent the last two months severely doubting my ability as a writer. I spent last night rereading a WIP I haven't touched since November. It had me in tears. Time to finish their story, then jump back into the query trenches.
@LongLeadsup @LaroyPage @sltrib Women having to give their consent to be married is also a newer practice. Your logic is very narrow to only people you have chosen to hate in the name of a God that supposedly represents love. Have a love evening and I’ll pray for your hate filled soul.
I leave for Oxford in 24 hrs. So any agents that want to jump on my query before I’m an Oxonian, get to it. And plus also, being back in the querying trenches is the freakin worst.
