@WorldAthletics@Norsk_Friidrett Would’ve been more fun to see him race 2 of the guys who beat him in the Olympics 5 days ago in NYC. But Jakob wanted a race where he could organize everything without competition and win by 50 meters .
@CanadianRunning Watching Jakob time trial is no longer fun to watch and frankly bad for the sport. He could’ve been in NYC 5 days ago racing 2 of the guys who beat him at the Olympics but he was a coward and ducked them.
@A0331934682838 @hjluks I can understand 9th and 10th graders who are new to the sport not running over the summer. But, juniors and seniors who have already run a few seasons of XC should be mature and experienced enough to understand the importance of summer training.
@denizselman33 So a new DC, 3rd in the last 2 years if you count Patricia, and the defense is still a disaster. Maybe this is on Howie and the roster construction and not coaching?
@stevemagness@brady_h@KFCpt2@anonyloco The zone 2 twitter zealots would benefit from watching a college XC team practice for a week.Though I’m sure many wouldn’t change their beliefs and would criticize the training.
@laurarathbone I’m curious to know your opinion, since the facts in this situation are murky. But if indeed Khalif is DSD and went thru puberty as a biological male, would you be okay with her competing in the women’s category?
@KB_400Hurdler@jgault13 Do you think Knighton wants to run the mixed 4x4? He’s a medal contender in the open 200, a much more relevant event. and the mixed 4x4 might take something out of his legs for the 200
@brady_h I will never root for any athlete coached by Salazar. Like all of his former athletes, maybe they weren’t “doping,” but were certainly up to some shady, likely unethical behavior. Maybe I’m a bit too much of an ahole but I celebrated her fall in the last 50m at lst years WCs
@CitiusMag@HarvardTFXC It’s wild that winning NCAAs doesn’t get you enough points to make the Olympics. He beat a field that included other Olympian and world champs runners. Probably a more competitive field than some silver label and as good as some gold label meets.
@jgault13 Good thing they opted to show 20 minutes of sprinters adjusting their blocks on the TV broadcast instead of an exciting mens 1500 featuring a former world champ and indoor medalist
@AthleticsWeekly USADA and USATF should pay to fund Kenya’s anti-doping agency. It would be the best way to increase US medal chances in the distances. US athletes would win medals in the 5k and 10k almost immediately if Kenyan athletes had to face the same testing scrutiny that US ones do.
@MJGold Get rid of pacers at most major meets. Tactical mid distance races are thrilling. 1500s and 5k where only 1-2 runners can hang with the rabbit are a lot less fun.
