@tsoding But retrieval is not intelligence. For something to be, it has to compress some of its random values and still be able to be accurately measured using the measuring device built on top of the sample data set. Entropy arises as a natural phenomenon in every intelligence process.

It should've been obvious, the universe is non-modular and can't be simulated (ie, functionized) for it to be understood. Surprisingly, though our brain, which is a non-modular computer, can understand and model this reality.

Researchers have mathematically proven that the universe cannot be a computer simulation.

Their paper in the Journal of Holography Applications in Physics shows that reality operates on principles beyond computation.

Using Gödel’s incompleteness theorem, they argue that no algorithmic or computational system can fully describe the universe, because some truths, so called "Gödelian truths" require non algorithmic understanding, a form of reasoning that no computer or simulation can reproduce.

Since all simulations are inherently algorithmic, and the fundamental nature of reality is non algorithmic, the researchers conclude that the universe cannot be, and could never be a simulation.

@chelseabfinn This is a more generalized approach and better goal compared to standard RL (optim J(theta) ), but it poses an even greater challenge, searching through a cluster of policies space instead of just policy space. And also bear in mind softmax is still involved for action choices.
