Dad, husband, NHS nurse, Labour Party Lichfield District Councillor for Summerfield and All Saints, Burntwood Town Councillor. Villa fan. Views are my own etc.
Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas
I’m not sure that we understand the importance of football with family? My dad made me a Villa fan. It’s something we shared. My best memory with him was Wembley’94. I’ll be watching the game on Wednesday with my kids, I just hope they’re memories with me are as I did with my Dad
I’m struggling with all the hate for Kier Starmer? He seems to be a decent man. I’ll admit he isn’t the most charismatic if leaders but is he really doing that bad a job? This seems purely driven by the press. In a leadership challenge I’ve no idea who I’d vote to replace him ?
I’m absolutely disgusted to hear that a friend of mine who is elderly and has given years to her local community as a Labour councillor had a window smashed in her house last night. The police believe this is because of “heightened political tensions”. What is wrong with people?
I want to watch the final in Birmingham with a big screen, loads of Villa fans, easy(ish) bar access AND that will allow me to watch it with my 10yo. I know I'm not alone. Let's make this the official thread for sharing info OR organising and booking somewhere. I'll lead it.
"Immigration is exploding under Labour"
At what point do people realise they’ve been manipulated? What strength of character does it take to honestly admit you were fooled, rather than doubling down?
Some guy whose mates down the pub call Barry the Bellend or Terry the Tosser is going to wake up on Monday morning and realise he's responsible for overseeing a £26 million regeneration project, and chairing a meeting of the local council licensing committee...
The Tax Avoiding Rich Leaders of Reform have convinced the poorest people in Britain that it’s other poor people -the young, the sick, the disabled, those on welfare & migrants -who are responsible for why they’re not as Rich as the Tax Avoiding Leaders of Reform

@notMrFarmer I know but that is what Starmer is known for? The communication has been awful. When people think that reform will be better for them then something is seriously wrong with the message?
When people voted for Labour at the last general election they voted for change. Labour have not delivered this, first taking away heating allowance before then targeting people on benefits. They have implemented some good policies but he is tainted by these early decisions.
