Year 4 enjoyed creating their William Morris inspired fabric designs in Design Technology. They used printing added embellishments using different stitches, free hand painting or adding buttons. The designs from each class have be joined together to create a large wall hanging.
Year 3 had a fantastic trip, to Barnwell Country Park. The Rangers taught us many things as part of our River Detective experience including how to measure the speed of a river, how to make a field sketch and all the names of the parts of a river.
Well done to the winners of the Food Waste Poster competition, they received their prizes today and we will be using their work to promote the scheme around the school. Thanks to everyone who entered the competition. We had a great response and a really high level of work.
Members of the ECO committee were pleased that the bulbs they planted back in December are flowering. One of the focus areas for this year is improving the school grounds. The pots have been moved to the front of the school and make a great display.
This year, the ECO committee is taking part in the Grow Your Own Potatoes project. Several members helped to plant the seed potatoes, and we look forward to watching them grow.
This week is 'Children's Mental Health Week' & we started the week with an assembly to discuss the theme 'This is My Place'. This is based around how we can feel a sense of belonging & help others to feel like they belong. Some children created some amazing maps to represent this

It was a pleasure to take this term's group to The Hut today to celebrate their Home Learning achievements. We look forward to seeing as many children as possible enjoying their next play reward on Friday 27thย February.
Year 5 have been enjoying their Geography lessons this term. We have been looking at time zones, capital cities and our local area using Ordnance Survey Maps. We will be completing the unit with a Geographical Enquiry!
Year 5 enjoyed taking part in an inclusive sport, seated volleyball. Inclusive sport refers to sporting activities in which individuals with different physical, sensory, or intellectual abilities participate together, with rules, equipment, or spaces adapted when necessary.
