@RutgersAltRoute Instead of using words like you did this wrong, do it again. We can try to shift gears and say you did a great job. I like how you put great effort into this lesson but let's work on another part together. I just want to introduce some new strategies. #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute My challenges I have faced is students giving little to no effort when trying to do a task that they do not fully comprehend and most cases they tend to copy off one another because English is not their native language. We can give DRA's for assessments. #TeacherEd#GrowthMinset
@RutgersAltRoute Teachers have to be aware of their choice words because they want to encourage the scholar's oppose to making them feel a sense of embarrassment. Make students feel like their efforts were noticed by allowing them second chances. #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute Educators needs to make the scholars feel like their class is a comfort zone and mistakes are allowed. Make scholars feel like mistakes will help them to grow and teaching them the proper strategies will enhance their learning. #TeacherED#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute With a fixed mindsets students are less likely to want to participate because they fear failure and laughter from their peers. And often cause confusion in the class. #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute School policies should always include accommodations that are consistently applied amongst all classrooms. Schools should provide teachers with clear summaries and extra time to interact with the special education dept. #Teachered
@RutgersAltRoute I believe you should let them have a voice and never discredit their feelings or opinions even if you do not agree with them. If a student tells you that they feel overwhelmed we should allow them to take a break. #Teachered
@RutgersAltRoute I also focus alot on small groups whereas I am able to give the students the support their needs. I use a great deal of visuals on a daily basis. #TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute I am an ESL teacher so it's important for me to create a safe learning environment. I also must deliver structured routines and repetitious lessons that helps reinforce both language and skills. #TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute With students with ADHD it is a must to reduce their task and give them extra visuals whereas you keep them engaged. They also need frequent breaks and suitable seating so they don't become extractive. #teachersed
@RutgersAltRoute One issue you may encounter is being able to respectfully work with your co-teacher must be a balance. And also another challenge is differentiating instruction. Students often have a wide range of needs, so its very difficult to help everyone and meet their needs. #Hashtagteache
@RutgersAltRoute My school promotes act of kindness through a program called Leader In Me. Teachers who recognize acts of kindness being shared by students will give their names to the counselor along with what they witnessed and those students names will be called out on Friday's #TeacherEd .
@JannierWal34434@RutgersAltRoute Good post I am constantly having to address kids for making another kid sad or making them cry from the constant name calling and teasing. It's a huge issue definitely in the intermediate schools.
@DNikolasAltRte@RutgersAltRoute Yes, great post the students mocking one another is a big problem in some of the classes. If a student gives the wrong answer others will began mocking them and whispering unkind words.
@RutgersAltRoute We should encourage our scholars to always want to take a stand by reporting the unkind acts that they have witnessed so the person being bullied can feel like they are safe as well. Also we can remind our students that no one will give their name for reporting #teachered
@RutgersAltRoute I always make it my business to show empathy to my scholars by hearing them out without commenting or passing judgment. After they finish talking I try to show love and understanding by addressing the issue myself if I cant then I will take the matter to the guidance counselor.
@RutgersAltRoute I have seen students harassing one another on a daily basis because they feel as if their peer is not as smart as the rest of the class. It is the worst form of bullying because some students are really not fast learners so it makes them shut down and not want to participate.
@RutgersAltRoute At my school teaches the scholars about empathy and respecting others values and space will always help reduce conflict and sometimes bullying.
@RutgersAltRoute Class dojo is used to collaborate with parents and caregivers they can keep track of their Childs behavior through the point system that's is provided by the educator's through class dojo. Teachers can also send a personalized message through class dojo if they have a concern.
