@DrGRuralMD Depends on the kids personality but I give my kiddo the toothbrush and let her suck on it while I brush my own teeth. The she gets jealous of me and let’s me brush hers. Toddlers are terrorists. Use their vices against them.
After taking tons of tests over the years, I have honed a study technique that works well for me.
And hopefully, it works for you too!
A thread on the study technique that got me through med school, residency, fellowship, and one of the hardest board exams I’ve ever taken:🧵📚
Parent of a kid who was in nicu for 14 days with rsv (also an adult icu md)…parents will hold on so tight to a timeline if u give them one. It can be a big disappointment when they’re not getting better by day 5 if that’s what u we’re told to expect.
9. It’s commonly taught that RSV severity peaks on days 3-5. I’ve found this “pearl” lacking hard evidence and not useful clinically.
If a child looks good on day 2, I would d/c home. If a child looks awful on day 6, I would admit or escalate care.

Ok, but what do you DO about it? I definitely agree with this but can’t count the number of times I’ve been like….yeah, I also think they’re going to crash. 🤷🏻♀️Order all the labs? Ultrasound everything? Give all the drugs?
