Joe Rogan just WENT OFF on Pit Bull Defenders: “They’re Sketchy Dogs. Period.”
And says the breed was designed to fight and that his own females would try to fight to the death while wagging their tails:
CONTEXT: There’s an important distinction buried underneath the screaming match people have about this breed.
The United Kennel Club’s own official standard for the American Pit Bull Terrier says “most APBTs exhibit some level of dog aggression” and warns that their strength means owners need careful socialization and obedience training.
But that same standard says aggression toward humans is uncharacteristic of the breed.
So “pit bulls can be wonderful with people” and “breeding can influence how they behave around other dogs” are not necessarily contradictory ideas.
ROGAN: “I’ve had pit bulls and I know people will tell you pit bulls are great dogs and they’re sweet dogs and I love them.”
“However, they’re sketchy f*ing dogs. They’re sketchy dogs. They’re sketchy dogs, period.”
“‘Oh, it’s all how you train them.’ F*ck you. Those dogs are designed to attack other dogs.”
WORTH NOTING: There’s also modern injury data that makes the breed debate harder to wave away.
A 2026 study at a Level I trauma center examined dog-bite patients from 2016 through 2024. Dogs identified as pit bulls accounted for nearly one-third of the injuries and their victims required surgery 61.5% of the time, compared with 47% for other breeds.
But there’s a major caveat: researchers acknowledged that visually identifying a dog as a “pit bull” can introduce bias, and the American Veterinary Medical Association says it is inappropriate to predict an individual dog’s aggression based solely on breed.
That gets closer to the real argument than either extreme.
Training and environment matter.
Individual dogs vary enormously, but selective breeding matters too. Humans spent generations creating different dogs for different jobs, temperaments and physical abilities.
MAIN TAKEAWAY: The serious question isn’t whether every pit bull is dangerous.
It’s whether “it’s all how you raise them” goes too far in the opposite direction by pretending genetics have nothing to do with behavior.
@Synonymous_CLAY I didn’t like the Russian fighters at first, but Islam Makhachev is one of the greatest. If striking won’t work, use other tools take them down and score. He got hit a bit, but most marks were minor, and he still won
@Sourceofboxing Movement is important, but what really matters is reaction time and controlling distance. Like in a fight between Teófimo and Shakur, just moving around doesn’t always help. The key is controlling the pace.
@eMTBrides This dude is corny. Sometimes you have to lie to girls even when they know you’re lying just to keep them guessing, like “does he really think I’m a 10?” But telling a girl she’s a 7 is just going to make her look for a man who’ll lie to her anyway, lol
@Marcus05453849@onlydubsX@ICEgov I’m not dropping to your level. Keep carrying that hate if you want, but all it’s doing is making you known as the person who’s always mad. You probably hate when your own sibling gets a new car
