During a random a conversation about desserts, a student asked me if I’ve ever had lemon bars. I said I had not, and he told me I need to try them. The next day he brought a lemon bar to school for me. 😊 Such a sweet kid! #iloveteaching

Finished my half marathon with about a 14 minute PR. This race length is growing on me. I need to train longer distances more often.

I got to see my 3 little cuties cheering me on this morning and I had almost gotten through 5 miles by the time the halfsy got canceled. Will have to find a time to run it virtual. It was an awesome event before the storm hit, though!

According to @Strava I reached my yearly running goal this morning! Better up it at least 100 miles. I’ve still got the @m2mrelay and @GoodLifeHalfsy coming up!

First middle school XC meet of the season! Most of our runners are completely new to the sport and it was so much fun to see them experience a race. They learned lots and had a great time! They should all feel so proud☺️

Things I’ve heard from 8th graders this week that made me smile, a week after I recommended a couple books to them:
“Mrs. Mills. This book isn’t terrible.”
“This is the fastest I’ve ever read a book.”

A student of mine, who is an avid reader, recently had a birthday. The other students know how much she loves to read & deeply respect her for it, which is just the best. Another student brought her a gift and gave it to her in my class. It was a book the girl had been wanting ❤️
