With safety in mind, neighbors are heading outdoors to celebrate National Night Out. This is a nationwide community-building campaign that brings police departments closer to the neighborhoods they serve.

Yesterday and today, we had a pizza parties for our grade 6-8 students who have completed all of their Naviance online tasks. Today, seventy-five grade 6 students finished the task and received a golden ticket 🎫 ! Way to go Owls!

The spread of coronavirus can be a scary topic for kids. We’ve been spending the past few days teaching our kids about 20 secs of hand washing and other safety measures. Students in gr.7 science graphed the infection rate and benefits of hand washing. Bottom line: scrub often!

“I love the smell of new books!” exclaimed one of our students when a delivery of high interest books arrived in her classroom last week. Thanks to @HPLCT, First Book grant and our HPS Humanities Dept. for helping to keep our kids excited about reading!

Hartford Performs trip today to the New Britain Museum of American Art. Students explored artifacts and even created their own benches similar to the ones displayed in the museum. They were super engaged during their visit.
