Day 3 of boycotting FFmpeg (they use AI)
HandBrake for conversions, yt-dlp for downloads, VLC for playback. It’s so easy. I’m never touching FFmpeg again.
This is exactly right. Source code is on the verge of becoming like assembly.
The next step is getting rid of “source code” entirely and just making an efficient binary directly with AI.
What I love about the EU is that if some company tries bs like this the clause will just be considered invalid and ignored.
Consumer protection really is great here…
@samuelaled@artsvit Yeah I agree you’d expect a simple utility app like this to adhere to interface guidelines (especially in a case like this where a lot of similar apps exist)
Xcode is legitimately one of the worst pieces of software ever made. Their entire platform is gimped by the worst developer tooling still distributed in the 2020's
I cannot fathom how Apple stays ahead with such a blatant lack of care for developer tools
