Labor will double the number of @CountryNeedsPpl rangers engaged across the country. They do brilliant work managing country, protecting nature, dealing with feral pests and invasive species. Caring for country. And today they were in Parliament to teach us about what they do.
At @tanya_plibersek#StateofTheEnvironmentReport talk. Federal Environment dept once had a division full of staff 100% focused on supporting Indigenous community based conservation. Thatโs been cut back by around 90% over last decade. Time to rebuild.
Mimal ranger Jasmin Daly and Marbine Austral from #TiwiRangers were extra busy at Parliament House in Canberra meeting with federal politicians to talk about their work, what they do for country & culture, and the importance of #IndigenousProtectedAreas#IPAs#indigenousrangers
We've arrived at Parliament House in Canberra!
๐ฅ Women rangers unite! Mimal's Jasmin Daly is with Tiwi ranger Marbine Austral.
๐ฅ Mimal deputy chair and elder Annette Miller gives a wave!
