@jjlefam@MsKrispanis@fordnation Schools don't have a steady attendance by then. Lots of kids are away on extended vacay (seeing family overseas), don't come back til the flights are a little cheaper. And some move over the summer, but schools don't know until they hear from the new school after school starts.
@1StarAtaTyme@MsKrispanis He went on to explain later in the thread that they have 1- 7/8 immersion and 1 7/8 split English core. They have low enrollment #s. What are they supposed to do, exactly? Drag ppl off the street into the classroom so the teacher "earns their keep" by teaching 30 kids?
@shawn_ontario@Linds_cha Soooo, what you're actually saying is that your school has low enrollment. What would you have them do? Ship the kids off to another school to "save" the cost of a teacher? Which would actually cost more by the time all is said and done.
@MeghanEMurphy@Poet___Myst Did you even WATCH the clip? TRUMP'S OWN WORDS?? What is it with you MAGAts that you just can't hear/see the truth when it's out right in front of you?
The @fordnation government has so underfunded hospitals, St Catharines is currently asking for linen donations for the NICU.
$25,000 for a sign not 15 mins away but no blankets for babies.

This is a fun website. If you put in your postal code it will tell you how much the Ford gov't cut from the education budget in your area. Our local school was cut over $500,000 a year or $3000 per student. Put in your postal code and prepare for shock.

@SteveWaterbury1@FNaation@MarcNixon24 Of course, but we don't count teachers as being unemployed in the summer, so their jobs weren't lost OR gained. They are considered employed all the way through.
The House voted to condemn “socialism” earlier this week.
Listen, I’ve been in and around politics for over 50 years. I grew up during McCarthyism and the “red Scare” of the 1950s. I’ve seen all of this fear-mongering before.
Here’s what’s really going on.
@RobertAWiseman@FairplayDesigns So, I can't say this happens in all middle schools, but in the school I work at, we have a student vote each time there is an election, be it municipal, provincial or federal. All. Of the kids are made to vote...unlike our citizens, who just vote if they feel like it.
