When this administration removed petrol subsidy, it swore to invest the savings in infrastructure, public education and healthcare.

It didn’t.

Instead, they have spent on insatiable vanities and white elephant projects that only massages their ego.

A lot of young Nigerians are struggling with class delusion, and that is why you see them supporting this government. Not necessarily because the government is doing well or because they are doing well themselves, but because they have convinced themselves that they belong to a higher class.

That delusion makes them refuse to identify with people complaining about the economic hardship in the country. They see themselves as above the people complaining and end up supporting a government whose policies are hurting people in their own economic class, including themselves. They would rather defend the government than confront the reality of where they actually stand.
