Minister Atanga Nji Paul, represents the Head of State at a triple ceremony in Mvolye Basilica, presided over by Nuncio, Jose Avelino Bettencourt, June 6th. It is the 125th anniversary of Pallottines, 120 years of Spiritans in Cameroon and the 70 years of the Yaounde Archdiocese.

The MINAT boss met with artisanal and industrial miners, sensitising them on civil defence and urging them to be transparent in an ongoing inquiry mission initiated by the Head of State, which is intended to get a comprehensive account of mining operations.

The Minister of Territorial Administration, Atanga Nji Paul, 2 June 2026, was at the "Gabon" mining site in Gonute village, Mandjou Subdivision of the East Region where he assessed mining operations with regards to the safety of persons.

After listening to the challenges affecting mining including the difficulty to obtain authorisation and the destruction of the environment, the Minister said he would present the report to the Head of State in the hope that order would be restored.

MINAT Boss, Atanga Nji Paul on June 1, 2026 sensitized mining actors in Bertoua on the harmful consequences of illegal mining to human life and the environment, urging them to be mindful of their activities and be regular with the law.
