ðŽââ ïž Rookie Pirate â Pirates / Swordman
Early draw? Just play him. Reliable pick #1.
Both Swordman and Pirate synergies hold their value.
ATK scales up with every Wave too.
Won't carry you alone â but stabilizes your early game.

I love hack-and-slash games.
I knew this would send me down a rabbit hole.
I did it anyway.
Open treasure chests collected during your run.
Get gear with randomized effects.
Unlike unit equipment that only lasts the run,
this is gear you bring in â equipped before the run starts.
Calling it "Gear" for now.
UI still a work in progress.
I want to get you all hooked...!

ð° Venture (Banker)
More Bankers mean more HP, Shield, and Win Gold for your entire team.
At 4 Bankers, all allies gain HP+60 and Shield+25 â plus +20 Win Gold every victory.
Shield absorbs damage before HP, and the gold you stack opens up more options at shops and events.
The more you fight, the richer you get.

I've been saying "pool-building" this whole time.
But what does that actually mean?
âââââ
The pool is the collection of cards
that could potentially be dealt to you.
49 card types à N copies
(varies by card cost and difficulty)
are prepared at the start.
Each turn, cards are drawn from the pool into your hand.
You place them on the field and fight.
The field resets after every battle â
but enemies keep getting stronger.
âââââ
To keep up, you need two things:
· Stack 3 copies of the same card â rank it up
· Gather the right classes and origins â activate synergies
Sound familiar?
âââââ
To make these happen, you trim the pool.
Every turn you can BURN cards from your hand
to swap them for different ones.
Events can cut the pool down in one go.
Forge converts cards into other resources.
âââââ
That's pool-building.

I realized I've never actually explained what MindGate is.
I've been posting characters and synergies this whole time.
So here's how the game works.
âââââ
â Choose your class
Three options: Commander, Sorcerer, Merchant.
Each has a different approach â
cycling your hand, merging and upgrading cards, or buying directly.
You also set your difficulty (Mind Layer) here.
Higher layers mean stronger enemies
and harsher starting conditions.
â» More classes coming!
âââââ
â¡ Navigate the map
The map is randomly generated every run.
You move through a branching map, choosing your route.
Enemies come in normal and elite variants â
elites are riskier, but the rewards are greater.
Not all nodes are connected, so every path is a decision.
âââââ
⢠Build between battles
Between combat nodes you'll find
events, shops, training grounds, and more.
Each offers different risks and rewards.
Add cards, remove cardsâŠ
Cutting is actually the core of this game.
âââââ
⣠Choose a blessing after each area
Defeat the boss to advance to the next area.
At the entrance, you pick one blessing.
Some come with drawbacks â
but stacking multiple risks can unlock additional bonuses.
Clear all 4 areas and you win!
âââââ
That's the basic flow of MindGate.
There's a lot more to cover, but this is the overview.
Thanks for reading!
