@GregJWolcott We use https://t.co/iU2r1v8fyG to help Ss lead - and build confidence in - their own self-evaluation. Scaffolded prompts help Ss let their Ts and Guides know where they're at in words, drawings, etc. All this, along with leveled resources and more. Dm or email for a demo!
@KRenaeP We use https://t.co/iU2r1v8fyG to help Ss help themselves navigate through educational standards and goals.
Maps seem to make things that were once intangible and unclear, more tangible and do-able.
@KRenaeP Re: publically available curricula guides and pacing documents (and standards, too):
Are they available in a language Students can clearly grasp (especially our young ones and their supporting families)?
Like an accessible directory that can be led and owned by Ss?
Thank You!
Food for #education thought?

@anya1anya reports large - scale peer reviewed study suggesting more worksheets and traditional pre-kindergarden schooling may be detrimental in the long run. And, that Teachers listening to Students happens infrequently.
@MichaelBonner_ This seems unfair to Teachers, Students and supporting Families.
However, more transparency as to the what, how, and why of curriculum is welcome.
Learning is boosted, and relationships built when Students can with pride answer the ?
What did you learn in school today?
The history of the school bell -- the first of the series I'm writing this year on the histories of ed-tech (and the stories we tell about how they shape school) https://t.co/VORfRl5PMw
@PegGrafwallner@Mr_Rablin Unsure how often it happens but with clear learning goals, a student's formative self assessment alongside Teachers, Parents and other Guides is very helpful for growth... of all involved in #edu.
@MisterCavey On a map.
Ss tangibly see and return to the (standard / target / step), connected to scaffolding questions to advance #metacognition, web resources, and secure communications portal.
For Ts: a timesaving organizer year after year!

@PaulSolarz@the_gifted_guy Sounds like introspective fun!
Want to keep track of all this metacognitive learning?

@Mr_Ankrum Depending on the growing zone #map you're in (latitude, longitude, microclimate), tons of green veegie/herbs can grow right outside to replenish your healthy eating needs.
Happy to root down more...
@Mr_Rablin@toby_gordon18 Another nice way to *map* communication around learning goals is secure web app https://t.co/iU2r1v8fyG
Self evaluation journals in spreadsheets felt a bit □B□O□X□Y□
for our Ss.
Save time on emails (& spreadsheets) to give just the feedback that promotes learner agency.
@funnymonkey@hypervisible When honest, Students agree with their self - assessment 100% of the time.
Clear goals, and space to think it through... Let's (re) start #Education there...

@steph_moore Not a model per search, but Dr. John Hattie's living list of research - backed, high effect size educational practices (contexts, etc.) gives a wide scope of factors to consider when designing teaching/learning experiences.
