I love Star Wars Legends (The Expanded Universe) and am here to show Lucasfilm we want it back and are ready to give them money for it. #SaveTheExpandedUniverse
@pablohidalgo Hey I don’t love the new cannon but it’s fine if some people do. (My wife actually loves the new movies) There is no reason we can’t be civil though, that’s why I advocate for Legends to be continued ALONG SIDE cannon. Fans of both can be happy :) #SaveTheExpandedUniverse
Just wanna throw out there Darth Maul Shadow Hunter is a really awesome book ripe for adaptation.
Also one of the earliest books I ever read as I kid was the Darth Maul adventure journal. Think it unobtanium now but a pretty good little story. 10 yo me defo thought so lol
@Armafala@SCentralized Checked wookepedia and you are correct btw. I do wanna point it also mentions George Lucas didn’t write/direct any episodes but was an executive producer. So take that as you will.
Start your tenure on a high. Gets fans excited for Star Wars again. It wouldn’t be hard and keep in mind other sci fi series already have multiple alternate timelines. Star Wars has one massive one that was cut short and left unfinished.
@dave_filoni Continue the Legends timeline alongside canon like fans have wanted for years. A few books and/or comics and an a Disney+ shows sprinkled in (animation or otherwise) would be huge for older fans who grew up with legends as well as newer fans who grew to love it.
@Nicapedia@SCentralized I know right, it’s still a huge shame we never got the stories that transitioned the EU from the Fate of the Jedi era to Legacy. Gaping hole in the continuity, pipe dream one day they will fix it but ya. No sword of the Jedi (canceled) and other “passing of the torch” stories
@SCentralized Not a book but I’d add Dark Empire series. The birth of Anakin Solo and the (then) introduction of the old republic era it referenced which obviously expanded the universe in another part of the continuity was huge at the time.
Now imagine if Disney actually cared enough to endorse it and make it official. For them it’s peanuts.
Currently it’s unofficial and janky but some of the legends AI stuff Iv seen so far is pretty cool and very promising. Like anything you get out of it what you put in
AI-driven Star Wars stories are thriving because they give fans what they want: Luke as a stud Jedi. The technology is improving, and they're showing us things the big studios aren't. #StarWars#Deepfake
@SCentralized It wouldn’t be that hard to make a story that is comparable for both continuities. The era isn’t explored massively in either. Obviously that requires effort and a desire to reconcile so can’t say I’m optimistic.
I know this is semi old news now but Stargate is doing it right. It’s not impossible to continue a long running series, we don’t always need a hard reset of canon.
I binged SG1 recently and working through Atlantis. Hope the new series’s does well but I’m optimistic for once.
@starwarsfan2398@retneysholocron At very least George rubber stamped the EU and let publishing brand is as canon. He doesn’t even do that post sale. If you wanna be George only that’s cool, enjoy the stuff he only was involved in. But I think you are missing out on a lot, no matter if you prefer legends or canon
@starwarsfan2398@retneysholocron And what do you think George thinks about the new stuff? After he sold it he was no longer involved. Apart from the occasional photo op he’s made it clear he’s not involved and several times voiced how he didn’t like things Disney had done.
@EckhartsLadder Not bad. I wonder if there is a monitizarion system. I for one would be all about legends adaptations on Disney+ if Lucasfilm is unwilling l to do it. Threw.
