Now, you might be thinking that he was assigned Beowulf or The Canterbury Tales.

Nope.

This student was assigned A Clockwork Orange—and used ChatGPT to “translate” it.

A Clockwork Orange was written in 1962 (not 1692, which is still modern English, by the way). This student’s grandparents were alive in the 60s. Is he also using a translation bot to speak to them?

Yes, I had an easier time than most people with the novel's Nadsat slang because I speak Russian, but you catch on very quickly if you turn on more than two brain cells—and the entire point is to compel you to inhabit Alex’s deranged mind, which is cool!

Tails OS — runs from a USB stick. leaves zero trace on the machine. all traffic goes through Tor. when you shut it down, everything is gone. used by journalists, whistleblowers, and people with actual threat models.

Whonix — runs as two separate virtual machines. one handles Tor routing. one is your workstation. even if your machine is compromised, your real IP physically cannot leak. the architecture prevents it.

Qubes OS — every app runs in its own isolated environment. a compromised browser can't touch your files. Snowden uses it.

Hardened Linux — any distro beats Windows for privacy. needs configuration. but it doesn't have a GDID connecting to Microsoft.

Colombia's President Gustavo Petro said he does not recognize the supposed "victory" of far-right, Trump-backed candidate Abelardo de la Espriella. The president has evidence that the election was rigged by the US and Israel.

De la Espriella is a dual US citizen and multimillionaire linked to drug cartels and paramilitary death squads. He became a naturalized citizen in 2023, after living in the US for many years, and his 4 children were born in the US, although he strongly supports Trump and his racist anti-immigrant policies.

Just a few weeks before the election, de la Espriella traveled to Miami and posted a photo of himself meeting with the US deputy secretary of state and far-right US Congress members who have supported coups across Latin America.
