@vix_the_star@ParalympicsGB@Paralympics The accessible seating was awful at many venues. Couldn't sit next to companion at any. I may aswell have saved money & watched alone at home.
Years of planning and no one thought it would be an issue. Disabled people need support, have friends, and want to enjoy events together
It's been such a privilege working on the Paralympics, adding audio description to evening roundups for @Channel4's YouTube channel. Very positive responses to it to which is brilliant. Great team to work with too.

Why it’s important to #CutItBack - We’ve created a series of videos showing the barriers #blind & #PartiallySighted people face. We are encouraging everyone to cut back and report overgrown vegetation.
Share our video about why it's important and help raise awareness: https://t.co/aUIeonZnUr
Video Description: Video clip shows a man using a white cane to navigate the pavement safely with a trimmed hedge alongside him. The second and third clips show a man and a woman using white canes to navigate a pavement with overgrown vegetation. A logo appears with the word 'Danger' written in black writing against a yellow background beneath a triangular shaped danger sign.
Transcript:
Blind and partially sighted people navigate the streets safely by following the buildings and hedge side of the pavement.
This helps us to walk in a straight line, find our way using landmarks and not get disorientated
Overgrown bushes and foliage are a real danger. They cause injuries, pain, confusion and are often unavoidable due to narrow pavements and other obstacles.
Blind and partially sighted people, wheelchair users, buggies and prongs often risk going into the road.

I very much enjoyed providing training and consultancy for the staff and volunteers @TyntesfieldNT last year - hoping they have put it all into good practice!
