Microsoft hanteert een zogeheten "gedeeld verantwoordelijkheidsmodel."

Zij zorgen voor de beschikbaarheid van het platform — niet voor het herstel van jouw bestanden, e-mails of Teams-data na een fout, ransomware of per ongeluk verwijderen.

Kortom: je denkt gedekt te zijn. Dat ben je niet. Een goede M365-backup — opgeslagen in Nederland, onder Europees recht — kost je een paar euro per gebruiker per maand. Een datalek of hersteloperatie zonder backup? Dat kost je een veelvoud.
