And it doesn’t have to be. Because Jesus already paid the full price — for you, for me, for all.” Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” We’ve all missed the mark. Not one of us is “good enough.” And yet, the good news — the Gospel — is found just a few verses later: Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Heaven is not a reward for the righteous. It’s a gift for the guilty — made right by Jesus alone. Ephesians 2:8-9 says it plainly: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” It’s not about how many lives we improved, or how many laws we changed — as good as those are. It’s about knowing the One who already gave His life in our place. John 3:16 reminds us: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Mr. President, Jesus doesn’t want your resume — He wants your heart. Revelation 3:20: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him…” No one can work their way into heaven. But anyone can believe their way into eternal life — by trusting Jesus as Lord and Savior. It’s not what we do. It’s what He did. ⸻ That’s the Gospel. It’s good news, because it’s not about us earning it. It’s about Jesus giving it.
