@pussycatcove Impulse control will need more difficult distractions as time goes on. My service dog was able to ignore toys flying right over his head after enough training. You can also start having him not fetch a toy til you give the okay by dropping treats on the ground and throwing a toy
@pussycatcove Another thing for this is you might have to get a muzzle. He can still eat through it that way and its way safer and quicker for gentle training. Once you think he has gentle down, you can remove the muzzle and try. Combining this with leave it training will help.
@pussycatcove Leave it training is going to be your saving grace! It sounds like he has an over excitement issue around toys and treats. Does he react the same to kibble? If not you can start with him taking kibble nicely, say gentle then give food and slowly go higher value mixed with kibble
@pussycatcove Feel free to dm me too if you have any questions! I train large breed service dogs and have worked with aggressive dogs in the past so I have a few tricks up my sleeve.
UPDATE: My girlfriend told me she was with a friend, but that friend was with me picking out an engagement ring. How do I confront my girlfriend about her lie? https://t.co/tgitTEqXW0
