• First Aid for Fourth Grade • Silver Creek Leadership Capstone created by Hailey Lathrop to educate 4th graders at Rocky Mountain Elementary on first aid.
Today is my last day of high school! Since the school year has come to an end, so has my capstone project. I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for your continuous support! I’m hoping we’ll see Mini Medics in the future in SCLA. Have a wonderful summer! 💗 #thankyou
@MiniMedicsSCLA Thank you, Hailey! I share the Rocky teacher-of-the-year honor with you and Ms. Leigh because some of my students' favorite learning experiences this year were during our Mini Medics lessons with YOU at the helm. We love you!
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!As part of this week, I’m here to thank my amazing mentors/teachers. Mrs. Lathrop won Rocky Mountain Elementary teacher of the year and Ms. Leigh has continued to strengthen my interest in the healthcare field. I appreciate them!💞
Thank you so much for the very kind words! The kids and this project were a highlight of my year and have kept me going through this crazy time. Thank you for allowing me to come into your classroom and making my dreams for this project come true!
@SilverCreekLA@AugustanaSD@MiniMedicsSCLA@ErickFinnestead@sclacapstone Congrats to the amazing Hailey! Your Mini-Medics project was SUCH a hit for my students this year. We can't thank you enough for being a bright spot to a year that ended in such a difficult way. We will all treasure the memories of your visits to our classroom. Thank you!
My summary product has been delivered! Included inside are pictures from the classes, notes from the kiddos, and detailed information about Mini Medics. I will treasure this book forever! 💗 #minimedics#firstaid#fourthgrade#endofyear#scla
Thank you to our SCLA Class of 2020! You’ve shown tremendous resilience and overcome adversity to provide so much support to our community! Wonderful job on your projects and the positive impacts you have made! #StVrainStorm
Last week I filmed a video explaining what each of the items in the first aid kits can be used for. Ms. Lathrop later sent the video out to the kiddos. This way, once the kits are delivered, the kids will know how to use the materials if they need them. #minimedics#firstaid 🚑
My heart is melting! Ms. Lathrop sent me a writing piece from one of her students where he’s writing about wanting to be a nurse and one of the reasons is because of Mini Medics! I’m so glad some of these kids are now passionate about the healthcare field. #healthcare#medics🤩❤️
I’m finally able to add the skills brochure into the first aid kits and it’s the perfect addition. I can’t wait for these kids to get their kits! ⛑ Thank you @SoarIntoClass for picking up the brochures for me. :) #minimedics#firstaid#brochure#kits#stayhome
Since the stay-at-home order is still in place, I decided to read the Harry Potter series again. Reading these books has reminded me of Kayla Miller’s capstone project. Go check out how she’s making a difference in the community! 📚@SoarIntoClass
Today I finished the brochures that will be going in the first aid kits. These brochures have detailed information and the steps for each skill we have worked on this year. Now the skills will be able to stay with these kids for a very long time. #firstaid#medics 🚑
I finished putting together a sample first aid kit so I’ll know how to put the rest together. Still hoping we can go back to the schools and make them as a class, but ready if we don’t. ❤️🤞🏼⛑ #minimedics#firstaid#stayhome
Today I’m figuring out how many of each supply will go into each kids first aid kits. Even though we might not have our last class, I’m prepared to put the kits together at home. #firstaid#minimedics#kits#quarantine 🚑
While some people are home right now, many are still working in public for our benefit. I encourage you too, to thank these wonderful workers who are putting themselves at risk to help others. 💗#thankyou#healthcare#teachers#groceryworkers#scla
Today I filmed a little show-and-tell video for my fourth graders. I told them about how I was born ten weeks early and why that makes me want to be a neonatal nurse. #nurse#minimedics#stayhome 💗👶🏼
