I’m still SMH over the patient who signed in to be seen in the ER only to yell at the Registration Clerk demanding that they be placed somewhere where there were no “sick people.”

The daily abuse that I endure from some patients as a healthcare worker wears on me.

There are rare, unexpected moments though when I’m appreciated and thanked for the care that I’ve given.

For now, those moments are enough to keep me balanced.

@jsparkblog Also, try to determine what other things may be going on to cause the meltdown … is she tired? Does she see something that she wants to get to? Is she uncomfortable? Etc.

@jsparkblog Joon, I believe that you would feel guiltier if she were to really injure herself. Sometimes as parents, we have to be “cruel” to be kind, to keep our children self. Breathe in the knowing that by you doing right by your child is a kind thing to do.
