Most people have heard of the Big Mac.
Far fewer know it has been used as an economic indicator for nearly 40 years.
The Big Mac Index was created by The Economist in 1986 as a simple way to compare the purchasing power of currencies around the world.
The idea is pretty clever.
A Big Mac is basically the same product everywhere. Same bun, beef, cheese, labor, rent, electricity, transportation, etc.
So if a Big Mac costs $6 in the US but the equivalent of $3 in another country, you can compare those prices to get a rough idea of whether that country's currency looks cheap or expensive relative to the dollar.
It took something incredibly ordinary and turned it into a way of explaining something incredibly complicated. That's the inspiration behind what we're launching.
A memecoin paired with McDonald's stock.
McDonald's has spent decades sitting at the intersection of culture, economics and global consumer behavior. The Big Mac Index might be the best example of that.
The Big Mac Index measured currencies through McDonald's. We trade currencies.
Now we're pairing the $BMI directly with solana:XsqE9cRRpzxcGKDXj1BJ7Xmg4GRhZoyY1KpmGSxAWT2.
