Why do I not see ANYONE talk about this cdrama? Married after 3 dates in ep 1, husband OBSESSED with his wife, gorgeous leads, really intriguing thriller mystery, investigator/police officer wife, criminal psychology professor/part time profiler husband +

@epikvibes For me personally, it's not that I've outgrown it but between a full time job and full time college while trying to keep up with my social life, I haven't had the time to consume it like I used to. I barely have time to listen to the songs anymore either
Because recent YA is books being written around "tropes" instead of actually engaging plots and stories. Of course there are a few hidden gems here and there but a lot of it is made and marketed to be viral
Can someone articulate why recent YA (2020+) reads more juvenile than the YA I read while in the demographic? Even on rereads, older YA holds up for me more than modern YA.
@ravenstarzz I don't want to spoil it for you but it doesn't have romance in the romantic sense. But it does explore a different kind of love. I don't view it as romantic love though
@ravenstarzz BUT don't go into it expecting a romance (the cover is deceiving). Tbh I loved how the story wrote their women and I loved seeing Wei grow and fight for her place in a system that was designed against her and women in general. If you enjoy that sort of thing, you might like it
@ravenstarzz Depends. I loved The Poet Empress. If you want something a bit darker where the characters aren't super black and white/good vs bad but something more complex, you might like it. You might even hate the characters but you might also eventually come to understand them. Go in blind
