@SkeetersTcmabl It's only fitting that the trophy stays in good hands throughout '20 with one of my favorite former teammates, #20 Tommy Genrich. See you next year for our @TCMABL 25th anniversary season!
Sometimes you just have to flip over the ball bucket, grab a seat out of the rain, and enjoy a little "freezee time" with the grandkids... in a few years these treats will be their reward for retrieving foul balls!
Is there anything sweeter than making the last ball in the BP bucket count? After C Adam Coy went yard with his final cut today, the only thing bigger than the shot was the smile on his face! You gotta love this game... step into the batter's box and you're a kid again!
The best medicine? Baseball. We took the practice field today for a healthy dose... 50 fly balls, 150 grounders, followed by one of the best BP sessions I've seen in years. 6 different Cubs went yard. Our 2020 club has a nice mix of power and speed. Just gotta hear "play ball"!
P/IF Sam Rothstein grew up watching #17 Mark Grace's Cubs with his grandpa, back in Paynesville during the 90's. Visiting my mom in Alexandria today, I found that our 80 year old seamstress had something special waiting for that "good NDSU boy" in her sewing room. She's awesome!
If you ask my son Pete, "Where did you play your first townball game?" He'll get a big smile on his face and proudly say "Baseball Heaven". That, my friends, would be @TinkLarson Field in beautiful Waseca, MN some 13 seasons ago... great memories, provided by a wonderful host.
The old man was a carpenter. He built this for me back in the summer of '73 to pitch against when his crew was working away. It taught his 9 year old son to throw strikes... or chase. Bob Sr. isn't here anymore, but some 47 years later and built to last, it's still standing.
@MABLmetrics@Sota24Stylee @Czazz7 By the way, what you've done here with historical analysis is really cool for the league and, simply put, fun! Keep up the GREAT work!
@MABLmetrics@Sota24Stylee @Czazz7 Bat ten... : )
Shift the line-up down?
Hard to say, a lot of good ball was played in 2017-19 that I didn't see and I may have a royal blue bias.
@MABLmetrics@Sota24Stylee Some all-time greats! I'm looking for Dan Casazza @Czazz7 to lead off this batting order... Brian Blake, Chris Boline, and Jeff Kaczmarczyk took turns each week carrying us too. With Burnie Rossum on the mound, those days were a blast!
With nearly 600 strikeouts over his 23 year @TCMABL career, RHP Paul O'Gara rejoins the Minneapolis Cubs for the 2020 season! The veteran, 4-time All-Star reliever has pitched for the Mudhens, Tornado's, Voyaguers, Cubs, and Angels; still dealing an 80 mph fastball in his 40's.
C Pete Janoski signed a spring training contract with the Minneapolis Cubs today. The former @TCMABLDonkeys backstop grew up with the @TCMABL and was mentored, then coached by legends @Czazz7 and @RyanJLutzka along the way. Pete will join the club for their May 9th doubleheader.
Free Agent OF/2B Brandon Chapman joins the Cubs for the 2020 season! The former @TCMABL 18+ Lake Elmo Ducks ballplayer brings a .325 BA and .437 OBP, plus a third left handed bat to our lineup. Welcome Brandon!
CF Tom Genrich's glove and 3B Jeff Wilson's bat led the north squad (Tornado's, Maxwells, Sox) to a 7-1 win over the south squad (Pirates, Giants, Knights) in our league's first @TCMABL 1997 All-Star Game. The young SP on the left just threw strikes, enjoying every minute of it!
Free Agent IF/OF/RHP Sam Rothstein signs with the Cubs for the @TCMABL 2020 Season! Sammy, a former NDSU Bison diamond standout, currently volunteers at MLB and WBC camps training young ball players internationally. Welcome Sammy!
Free Agent OF/C/3B Jordan Hagen joins the Cubs for the @TCMABL 2020 season! Jordan is a 35 year old former California LABL standout, bringing experience and versatility to our club! Welcome Jordan!
Free Agent C/3B/RHP Adam Coy joins the Cubs for the @TCMABL 2020 season! The veteran backstop from Oak Park, IL will be a great addition to our club. Welcome Adam!
Taking a break from signing 2020 ballplayers and thinking back to a blockbuster 2010 signing that brought us four Killer B's (John Barbella, Burnie Rossum, Chris Boline, & Ben Rossum) all in one day! Together, these four guys helped turn two managers into @TCMABL Hall of Famers.
