I am going to make a suggestion in light of today's published findings: we need to remember that speaking English for non Gàidhlig speaker is a courtesy. One we don't actually have to extend if no effort to reciprocate is made.
@fion_argh There's a song it's in which is why it's the only reason my multi island dialects mash up uses it, buggered if I can remember yon song though.
Still it's technically the ye olde single midday meal of the day I think?
@Roddy_Rods@PSOSWestIsles There's actually a decent whack of provision on island, especially given its small size. And we have an excellent community run tourist information service.
@noeldarlow@KennethJMacLean I'd suggest you have a look at the proposal as it's looking to completely ban commercial and recreation fishing with the possibility of barring all boat.
🐟 About to write the weekly Scottish islands news round up. Been a fairly quiet week... It probably won't be worth reading... But you could sign up anyway 🙃 https://t.co/IA15BW1KsH
When highlanders living in the Highlands talk about something having the same effect as the clearances, they aren't doing so lightly. They're viscerally aware of the reality of them, and are invoking it for a reason. Listen.
No bro, it's not like the highland clearances in the slightest,
Like. We're just planning to make it so that you can't earn money to stay, and that you and your relatives need to leave to find gainful year-long employment
As Gaels, we have had much done to us over the years. Language banned in schools, people cleared, little interest from either parliament in critical infrastructure. Mockery.
Depopulation is a serious issue. We can't rely on transport links and we're going under in second homes.
Is it possible for Scottish government fanboys to understand that not everything is some unionist conspiracy to topple the Scottish independence movement.
They can't comprehend the same dynamic at play between Holyrood and the H&I, as there is between Scotland and Westminster
@Stevefrankjohn In the nicest possible way it's not helpful input. Yes the plane is lovely but it doesn't do anything to improve access for locals to local amenities in it's current form.
My last antenatal scan involved 27 hours out of the house for a 10 minute appointment.
