The diversion tactics that mukuru kwa njenga residents benefitted from the affordable housing project is misleading. This is a tactic to evict mukuru kwa njenga community members, we resist any planned forced evictions by the state.
As we commemorate the 77th anniversary of the Day of the Nakba. We will be Screening a Documentary in solidarity with all the heroic people of Palestine #FilamuGizani as we Affirm that the Nakba can only end with the dismantling of the Zionist occupation.#FreePalestine
The police claim the reason Mukuru Community Justice Center was summoned is because of the political education they conducted after the screening of the @BBCAfrica documentary.
Mukuru Community Justice Center is a non-violent grassroots justice and human rights organization. We neither condone violence of any form (including the violence of poverty) nor have incitement to violence as one of its organization objectives.
Though weβve been released, the message they wanted to send to Mukuru slum is clear. Kenya is a police state, if you don't sing praises of the Ruto regime, you get summoned by DCI.
We wish to thank the quick response of @DefendersKE ,the lawyers, comrades, civil society organizations who rushed to our aid. We can also not forget the love you have shown us on Twitter. Shukran.
We were not coerced, in fact maybe we will have another screening and political education this Friday. Same time. Same place. Maybe.

Good morning comrades and Kenyans on Twitter, Mukuru Community Justice Centre leadership has been summoned to appear before the DCI at 11am today. We suspect it can either be because of our scheduled campaign to ask for justice for GenZ Kware Bodies or because some of our members were trained citizen journalists working for @SemaUkweliKenya during the GenZ protests of 2024 and they are being suspected of working with BBC.

True change begins when theatre ceases to be a spectacle and becomes a tool for empowerment and sparking conversations, where the people are both the authors and the beneficiaries of their own struggles.
