@kiwicopple@supabase Just because it’s “reverse engineered” it doesn’t mean it’s ready for production. The trick is not to write code, the trick is to find and fix all the bugs while preventing regressions.

I changed my link preview on X. X kept showing the old one.
So I made brand new links. Still the old picture. X has a long memory.
A couple of days and one small fix later, the new preview finally showed up. Patience is a feature too.

One tap, two songs. For a while the music could start twice, right on top of itself.
To a browser, one tap on a phone is really several events in a row. Each one started the music again.
Now there's only ever one copy playing. Not the remix I had in mind.

Spent yesterday polishing the invites for a few special users. The trick is to not trigger it prematurely and send users to a locked-down site.

The site makes a sound. A soft chime as every minute begins.
At each quarter hour it gets a little fuller. On the hour, a gong.
It's a clock you can hear, and everyone listening gets the same chime at the same moment. The chimes even stay in the music's key, so time never sounds off.

I'm building this alone. Well, alone plus a few AI bots.
One writes code. One makes the pictures. One keeps the to-do list and nudges the others.
Last week the to-do bot told the rest of the team to pause until midnight because we'd nearly used up the day's budget. Even bots have a bedtime.

Anyone will be able to post a short message that everyone else sees. So every message gets checked first.
I'm using Jev for that. It doesn't write an essay about why something is bad. It just answers allow, review or block, with odds.
I ran it in shadow mode first, next to the model I had. On my test set it matched with no harmful misses, in about 170 ms, for a third of the price. Since Oct 2 it makes the call on text.
No link, no hashtag, no image, no poll, no boost/promote.

Anyone watching can react, and each reaction rings a quiet bell in the music. A different voice per emoji, on the beat.
Problem: a hundred people tapping at once is not music. It's noise.
So there's a gate. A burst of 3 gets through, then about 1.5 a second. The rest becomes a soft crowd swell that fades when things calm down.
