Essa parada de “nunca existiu comparação em bola jogada” é uma absoluta mentira! Houve um tempo em que a maré dos dois era tão invertida que um deles chegou a declarar aposentadoria da própria seleção (2016), enquanto o outro só não ultrapassou seu algoz em Bolas de Ouro por razões políticas (2018).

Ninguém me contou. Eu vi. Muitos da minha idade viram. Se você não viu, contente-se em opinar sobre o que viu ou busque os contextos corretos ao longo da trajetória de ambos pra não cometer um anacronismo injusto.

Não tenho problema algum com quem acha X ou Y melhor. Meu problema é com essa tentativa oportunista de tentar reescrever a história como ela se desenrolou e colocar como verdade uma narrativa que é na verdade totalmente subjetiva e que passou por muitas fases ao longo dos anos.

Sejamos honestos com ambos. O futebol merece e eles também.

While Zlatan sought explanations, Pep didn't answer him and that was the end of his career at Barcelona

The media didn't force anything, both players were on the same level till Ronaldo finally ditched the wing forward and moved permanently to a central position at Manchester United

Ronaldo has more than 300 assists in his career, that's more than most of the favourites midfielder total career assists

I grew up in Nigeria. I did all my primary, secondary, and university education in Nigeria ( multiple ). I’ve also interacted with students from institutions outside Nigeria, and I’ve seen how their schools use updated curricula and run internship partnerships with global organisations to give their students a better chance. That’s what I want. That’s what I want to build for @AltSchoolAfrica .
Education in Africa needs to be remodelled for the future we have now. Students should learn in a better way. AI should be built in and accepted, so students know how to use it the right way without letting it replace critical thinking.

In 2012, when I started farming in Kuje Area Council-Abuja, cashew trees were everywhere. Many local landowners planted them as economic trees—not necessarily for commercial production, but because they increased the perceived value of their land.

By 2013, the cashew industry had become a thriving rural economy. During harvest season, heavy-duty trucks lined up at Tipper Garage Junction in Kuje, buying cashew kernels for Nuts processing.
Farmers earned and the entire communities benefited from the value chain.

The boom continued through 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Then greed quietly replaced sustainability.

Instead of allowing the fruits to mature naturally, many people began harvesting prematurely to extract kernels early. The result was predictable: immature kernels flooded the market, quality dropped, and buyers began rejecting consignments.

By 2018, something even more alarming happened. Many of the cashew trees simply refused to fruit. In 2019 and 2020, some produced while others remained barren. By 2021, large numbers of trees appeared diseased and failed to fruit.
Today, the trucks are gone. The once-thriving cashew economy has largely disappeared. The trees remain, but many no longer produce.

What is most disturbing is that nobody seems to know why.

Nigeria has numerous institutions with mandates that should cover issues like this:
• Seed Council of Nigeria
• Forestry Departments and Agencies
• Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development
• Research Institutes and Extension Services

Yet there appears to be little or no publicly available data explaining what happened to the Kuje cashew ecosystem.

A nation that does not invest in research is condemned to repeat its mistakes. We spend billions discussing agriculture, but when an entire economic ecosystem collapses, nobody can explain the cause, measure the impact, or propose a recovery strategy.

Agriculture is not sustained by speeches and conferences. It is sustained by data, research, and institutional memory.

Until we take research seriously, we will continue harvesting from nature without understanding the consequences—and acting surprised when nature stops giving back.
