Today, we join people around the world to support the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women - calling on men to never commit, excuse or remain silent about gender based violence - a priority for @MayorofLondon & I every day of the year.
Today I joined colleagues & partners at City Hall to celebrate our pioneering work to stop perpetrators of violence against women and girls - preventing harm & keeping victims/survivors safe @Drive_Partners, @RISEMutual, @safelives, @Cranstoun_org@RespectUK#16Days
It was good to be at City Hall today for @MOPACLdn’s #16DaysOfActivism event and to see the focus on the Culturally Integrated Family Approach to Domestic Abuse developed in partnership with @RISEMutual that @BarnetCouncil leads across 13 London boroughs.
Eradicating violence against women and girls is everyone's business.
As part of the #16DaysofActivism, @MOPACLdn brought partners together at City Hall to share the latest evaluations and best practice on what works in changing the behaviour of perpetrators of VAWG.
An important reminder today for Londoners: our city is - and will always be - for everyone.
We will always be pro-women, pro-diversity, pro-climate and pro-human rights.
These are some of the values that will continue to bind us together as Londoners.
Domestic abuse commissioner Nicole Jacobs says the early prison release scheme is leaving some victims confused and could put them in danger.
Jacobs says the government has taken steps to mitigate risks, but believes the plan is still "imperfect".

We hear from @jessphillips about the importance of ‘political will’ to drive forward change. The need to move away from an unsophisticated ‘risk-focused’ model as a way of rationing services and the importance of taking a ‘needs-led’ approach. #aafdaconf23@STagainstDA_
