What @Caabu latest poll shows regarding British public opinion about the Israeli genocide in Gaza. There is a clear message to Andy Burnham - UK policy has to change. My article in @MiddleEastEye https://t.co/FNuMevS6pc
"Perhaps this will be the last cry."
Dr Hussam Abu Safiya's son has issued an emotional appeal calling on governments, international organisations and people around the world to act urgently to save his father's life, warning that his health condition is severe.
The appeal comes after Dr Abu Safiya's lawyer visited him in Israeli detention, where he has been held without charge for more than 555 days.
Reported by his lawyer, the doctor is suffering from severe injuries, inability to talk, difficulty breathing and repeated loss of consciousness, with rights groups warning his life is in immediate danger.
His son urged world leaders to secure his release before "it's too late", saying, "Dr Hussam Abu Safiya needs to be released now. You need to save his life before it's too late. Don't let down a heroic doctor. Please act now."
The vast majority of people Israel considers "terrorists" in the West Bank never target civilians and never even leave their home areas. Here's the story of Bakir, who engaged in armed resistance against the army that came to invade his city. In response, Israel bombed him and three other completely unrelated people, including two children.
Bakir is not considered a terrorist by any legal definition of the word. By international law, Bakir and other residents of Palestine have full legal right to armed resistance against the IDF.
Starmer will be remembered as the human rights lawyer who did more than anyone else to consolidate authoritarianism

Trump’s Board of Peace plans to grant itself sweeping immunity, documents show. “They are basically saying there’s no external oversight, including applicable international law regarding occupation,” say lawyers. “It’s creating a legal system unto itself.” https://t.co/awVrYzQtZ3
"Never before have such serious accusations been leveled against an Israeli government and the entire defense establishment, certainly not by someone who once held ultimate responsibility for Israel's security. But after a long and painful period of restraint, there is no choice but to say these things plainly and in full"

Israel killed Mona Khalil in South Lebanon.
On June 6, they dropped a bomb on her home in Mansouri — flattening it.
Mona, an environmental activist, dedicated her life to protecting endangered sea turtles along Lebanon’s coast.
She died of her injuries today.

UK position is clear: settlements are illegal under international law. Development in E1 would divide the West Bank in two, seriously undermine a two‑state solution, and carries significant legal and reputational risks for those involved.
@JewishNewsUK Not good enough they need to be prosecuted , the synagogue needs to be condemned by charity commission and their charitable status rescinded. People were assaulted, abused , kicked and threatened for saying this is what was happening
Parliament should reverse the decision to proscribe Palestine Action urgently before we see large numbers of elderly people in particular being dragged before our courts. Classifying protest through direct action as terrorism brings Parliament & our judicial system into disrepute
Palestine is also one of humanity’s oldest toponyms, and records of a people named after it are as old as literacy itself.
On the temple of Medinet Habu near Thebes there is inscribed in hieroglyphs the name of the people who had invaded from the North who the Egyptians knew as the ‘Peleset’. The inscription dates from the time of Pharaoh Ramses III, and was carved in 1186 BC. The cuneiform inscriptions of the Assyrians mention the ‘Palashtu’ who lived on the southeastern Mediterranean coast from about 800BCE. The Book of Genesis in 21:34 says clearly that after migrating from the city of Ur, that the Patriarch Abraham lived “in the land of the Philistines.” Herodotus, the Father of History, describes the same area as “Syria Palestina” (Παλαιστίνη) around 480BCE.
Gaza is one of the oldest urban centres on Earth, and in this series we are exploring its long history. It was first referred to by Pharaoh Thutmose III in the 15th century BC when it was known as Ghazzati....
