So far AI has:
• destroyed the prices of personal electronics
• have data centers relocate people from homes and contaminate water supplies
• destroy the concept of objective reality with Gen AI
• layoff off thousands from jobs
Oh, but it’s the future guys!
I came across a theory that AI is starting to make more mistakes because the internet is increasingly polluted with AI slop. The idea of AI cannibalising itself into obscurity is one of my favourite things ever. I hope it is true and I hope it becomes impossible to fix.
finding out the artemis ii astronauts talked with poets and studied poetry so they knew how to properly convey what they were seeing in words and saying that the arts played a huge role in their time in space. oh my god
Taylor Swift on Dakota Johnson for TIME:
“As her friend, I can vouch for her realness, but add that she’s also one of the most empathetic people I’ve ever known. And maybe it’s true that she can’t lie. But I’ll tell you a few more things she can’t do. She can’t stop asking people questions about their lives, endlessly curious about everyone else’s human experience. She can’t stop challenging herself, taking newer and bolder risks like building her production company TeaTime Pictures. She can’t stop exploring the most intricate relationship complexities like in last year’s Splitsville and Materialists. Captivating in front of the screen and inquisitive behind it, her unfailing truthfulness helps to shape her ever evolving storytelling into art that feels as real and timeless as she is.”

Hopefully this isn’t controversial, but if I’m paying for a streaming service, there shouldn’t be ads period. Not on Disney+, Amazon, Hulu, none of it.
Ads belong on free versions of these platforms. If advertisers are already paying to run their ads, why am I also paying to watch them?
Festus, Missouri voted out every single council member who approved a data center against the community's wishes. Every. Single. One. That's the blueprint. From micro to macro.
