"Iota-Carrageenan nose sprays have the most studies behind them. They're made from a compound derived from red seaweed. Several studies demonstrate their ability to reduce or eliminate viral load in labs and real-world settings for a range of Covid variants by about 80 percent."
This is really the article I always wanted to write about Nasal Sprays... except it's better.
It's short, well sourced, to the point, and does an excellent job explaining the situation.
These nasal sprays are a critical part of the protection equation.

Common respiratory viruses such as influenza and COVID-19 can awaken dormant breast cancer cells in the lungs, triggering aggressive metastatic growth, according to new research.
A groundbreaking study published in Nature provides the first direct evidence that respiratory viral infections can reactivate dormant disseminated cancer cells (DCCs).
When viruses like influenza A or SARS-CoV-2 infect the lungs, they trigger a surge in inflammation, particularly through the molecule interleukin-6 (IL-6). This inflammatory signal disrupts the dormant state of breast cancer cells, causing them to switch to a more proliferative hybrid state, multiply rapidly, and form visible metastatic lesions within as little as two weeks in preclinical models.
The awakened cancer cells also appear to manipulate the local immune environment, recruiting CD4+ T cells that help shield them from immune attack.
These findings align with observational data in human cancer survivors, who showed higher rates of lung metastasis and mortality following SARS-CoV-2 infection. The researchers emphasize that cancer survivors should stay current with respiratory virus vaccinations to minimize this risk, and suggest that IL-6 inhibitors could offer a promising strategy to keep dormant cells suppressed even during future infections.
